Extension of $ 8,000 Tax Credit

I just read an article on HousingWire.com by Austin Kilgore where the House of Representatives has unanimously passed an extension for 12 months for the $ 8,000 tax credit for those people who are currently serving in the military.

The extension is for those men and women, members of the Foreign service and intelligence community and their spouses who served for at least 90 days in 2009 out of the US. In addition to the extension, it would eliminate the repayment clause if they were to sell their home within 3 years due to deployment.

This is especially great news if you live near a base and know of a lot of military that will be returning home.

This bill passed 416-0 and will now be sent to the Senate for approval. Service people should have the opportunity to move forward with their lives upon returning to the US according to Rep. Ron Kind ( D-WI) to invest in real estate.

Given the sacrifices they make this is a good thing and I think a vote we can all get behind. Thanks for the news I did not know this
