Prospecting Goals and Advice

I am loving all the great information I get on Active Rain.  Somehow I can carve out a few minutes of my day here and there to check out the posts and get involved in the great discussions.

What I can't seem to do is carve out the time to really clean up my database and start a drip campaign which I feel is the life blood of my business and will dry up if I don't take advantage of it.

I'm the kind of person who feels like I need to make a project out of things and not stop mid way through.  However, I'm also the kind of person likes to do a million small things at once so I never want to stop to do the big thing.

So I'm curious, what kind of strategies do you all use to keep up with prospecting.  Do you turn your phone off for an hour.  Do bits and pieces at a time.  Do it at midnight when the rest of your family is asleep.

You guys are great at advise... I'm ready for you to lay it on me!

I have a "Plan of ACtion" outlining tasks I need to do every day.  I conscientiously start on the list every single day, from the start and work through it. I like to cross out things when they are done.  The least important things to do are at the end of the list.  I even include some personal things, such as a beach break, a swim or painting (artist not house).  It is just enough work that can be done in 4-6 hours most days without interruption.  Of course, with phone calls and property showings, some days not everything get's done.  I try to remind myself that that the reason for the Plan of ACtion is to make the phone ring or cause a property showing.  That way I feel like the plan is a success and the interruption is not really an interruption, but a positive outcome of my efforts.  Hope this helps.  ; ))

Hi Angie,

My advice would be to make an appointment with yourself and put in on your calendar.  It can just be for an hour a day but under no circumstances can you cancel, this is your "hour of power"!  Then turn off the cell phone and the email and just concentrate on the task at hand.  You will be amazed at how much you will have accomplished by the end of the week.

Hope this helps :)

You sound a bit like me, all or nothing.  Here is what I do.  Start by doing.  Forget about the getting ready.  Just do.  I have built drip marketing and you know what works?  Whatever you do.  So my coach(Buffini & Company) keeps pounding in the basics, the "fundimentals."

I can say it has worked for me. Off and on. Will it work for you. Yes, off and on....just do it.
