This group could be a great source of information for anyone wondering about different 'training' providers. By that, I mean a place where they can get the whole picture, not just the rose colored classes view.

I'd marked this members only, I think that was wrong of me and will change the visibility to Public.

Dane, You crazy little sinner you. I just wanted to hang out for a few minutes and see what was happening here. Could turn out to be too much fun. I'm wiped out from a two day stage where both the owner and I were in tears before it was over.

Charissa, Thanks for the kind words. It wasn't as bad as I may have made it sound. I simply asked my client to move his gun rack to storage and at first ran into a brick wall. It took a little while to get him to explain why he didn't want to move it. There were no guns in it and it was just taking up space in the master bedroom with a lot of junk piled in and on it. What he finally told me was that one of the cardboard boxes sitting atop the rack held the remains of his wife. Another box there was the remains of his favorite dog. We both cried a bit. I asked him to compromise with me and move his wife and dog to his closet and the rack to storage. He did and all turned out well.

Oh my goodness! What a place to keep the reamains of his wife...right up there with the dog, atop the gun safe...sounds like a man!

I was so excited to see that there are other naked stagers out there. Everyday I debate wether I have made the right choice to not "join" a class and receive a certification. Due to financial issues I am not able to take a class. My other reason for not taking a class is I just do not feel that I would ever be taught something I didnt already know. I am more of a hands on, learn from experience type of person. I decided to open my business because I know how to design and stage. No class out there was going to show me how to exactly run my business. Just like no Dr out there could tell you how to care for a newborn. Each business as well as infant is different. Also each stager and redesigner have different techniques and styles. Long story short, I was happy to find the group and hope tp gain so help and information as well as give some of my own too.

Well, I'm glad you found us Elise! Some are 'naked' by choice, some have had their letters taken away...a good way to tell if the letters are real or not! And then there are some who just prefer not to use their letters.

I took Debra Gould's Staging Diva training because it was a business and marketing course, like you I didn't feel the other options could teach me how to stage I've been doing it for some time. I wanted someone who's grown a successful staging business to teach me...I'm at least a year, maybe 2 ahead of where I would be without Debra's course!

Debra also makes it very clear there are no recognized letters in this industry and I respected her for being honest about this!
