Temecula California is the "New Wine Country" for California. There are new wineries starting up all over in the area. One established Winery is the "Winery" owned by Nick Palumbo, known as the Palumbo Family Vinyards. 
My son Mark Mayo sells real estate in the Temecula area, and is the proud owner of what he affectionately calls "the thing". It is a Volkswagen Thing that has an immense amount of money poured into it for off road travel. Mark tells me that the suspension would withstand driving it off of a four story building. I told him "Not with me in it!"
Every time Mark takes me for a ride in his little red pride and joy, it seems like we break down. I believe once it was the brakes, once it was a transmission ($5,000.00), and this last time just merely a radiator hose.
We were on our way to Nick's Winery when the hose clamp slipped loose soaking us both with hot water and anti freeze. We were able to loosen the clamp with a dime, slide it back on, and tighten it up with that same dime enough to get to Nick's. We borrowed a screwdriver and some water from the Palumbo Family Vineyards so we could get back home.
If you are ever in Temecula, stop by Nick's Winery, or take one of the Wine Country Tours that visit several of the area wineries.
