Handheld Panarama

By
Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty

I took this handheld panarama while I was walking.  This is in reality a field soon to be filled with condos and business's in Virginia Beach.  It looks so serene from here.  The reason I put it here was to show you that a handheld panarama is possible.   I did the actual work in a software called ARC.  What I had to do in photoshop was fill in the bottom left part of the picture.  It was mostly missng so I used the clone tool to fill in the grassy area.

If you do handheld panaramas, look for the feature in your cameras menu, some have it and if they do, will provide grigs to help you keep your verticals which is what happened to me.  My verticals were off.  The camera also plays with your exposure and several other features.  Otherwise, lock your exposure and sweep from left to right.  Enjoy.

Thanks, Gene,

I like to do these in particularly small rooms and pool areas.  It really opens up the rooms and makes such an impact .  Exposure is key, as well.  Good stuff

Hard to get the exposures right.  The software I use helps a lot.

Yes, I am working on that.  Which software do you use?

It is ARC and came with the camera.  I have tried to use others I found on the web for free as a trial but so far this is the best and easiet.  Pick the pictures, hit the process key, and you done.  You can do just a small bit of editing in the software but for the most part not.

Gene - Nice example.  I have an old Kodak V570 and a HP R927 and they both have a nice internal stitching setting.  The Kodak will do either left to right or right to left and I haven't seen another brand that offers this feature.
