Organizers of the annual Christmas dinner at the Monterey County Fairgrounds said they are struggling to get enough turkeys and hams for Friday's free meal.

The Community Holiday Dinner Committee has collected 100 turkeys, but is looking to get 10 to 15 more by Friday for the dinner.

So far, there are only two hams for the dinner, which is expected to serve nearly 2,000 people.

Anyone who would like to donate a turkey or ham for the dinner can do so on Thursday in the Monterey Room at the Monterey County Fairgrounds.

Hi Angelica. I'd gladly both donate a ham and a turkey AND live in Monterey! Alas, it is not so. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas.
