Change - if I had to sum up 2009 in one word it would have to be change- especially in the mortgage industry; the entire landscape, we have seen some large corporations in the mortgage industry change hands, get help, get bought out, or disappear and close their doors. Change can bring you down, effect your attitude, effect your personality, effect your impression on others, if you let it. Change can be feared, it can be dreaded, it can keep you awake at night or make you wake up really early.
Change can grip you and leave you wondering what the future holds, and change can cause you to slip into that pit of worry, where fear of tomorrows issues are piled up on today's imagined to do list. Change can place you in a spot that you really would rather not be, and it can cause your flight reflex or your fight reflex to kick in. Change can bring with it a misplaced loss of control (as if we really had control of it in the first place right?) and change can start to define you, IF YOU LET IT.
Change can also present a new challenge, and therefore a new opportunity, change can open new doors and new horizons to sail towards. Change can redefine goals and have you looking at accomplishing things that if it had not been for a particular change you would have not thought possible. Change can make you motivate yourself and rise to face that challenge, change can bring out the best side of you and when everything around you changes it highlights those things that are your constants in your life, your family, your friends, your network of support that you surround yourself with. Your constants shine and your feelings and your connection grows as they assist you in the changes that you are going through. It also reminds you that they to are facing change in their own life - and really teaches you how to support others.
More changes are to come- more challenges for 2010 await - you can let it define you or you can look at the future and say Bring it on!
