A Weight Loss Diary, Part Twelve (Thanks To My Fantastic AR Friends!!!)

Today is a new day.

An allergy filled day.  :(

Last night, Nick and I made fajitas.  I ate one, and boy was it good!  We used lean steak and everything!

For dinner, I had a little bit of popcorn with my Parkay spray.  I really love popcorn.

We ate early, and I got the munchies before bed.  I wandered around the kitchen, and finally settled on a small scoop of ice cream, to convince my stomach that I would live through the hunger.  That is definitely the hardest part - telling my stomach that I'm not starving to death.  Sometimes it really feels like I am.

This morning, I packed a small fajita for lunch, a peach, some leftover popcorn, and lots of water.

So far so good.  All that's left is the peach!  :)

Now, my question to you readers out there is this - do you think I'm relying to heavily on fruit?  I just recently had someone tell me that I'm eating too much fruit, which is full of sugar, and that I won't lose weight.  Of course, this is from a person who eats lettuce wraps and chicken broth every day.  I'm sorry, but chicken broth, three meals a day?  No thank you.

What do you think?  Am I doing well?  Or do I need to modify a little more?

Joslyn,

Yes fruit is full of sugar, however it is healthy than limiting yourself to just broth.  The whole point of weightloss if to improve your lifestyle so that you can lose weight overtime and not get onto a fad diet and rebound to your original weight.  You are on the right track in my mind.

Also fruit has "natural sugar"...so it's the type of sugar our bodies know how to deal with...  Drinking LOTS of water will signal your stomach that you aren't as hungry.

I know that fruit is full of sugar but its not like the sugar in soda or candies.  I don't know if you can eat too much fruit unless that's all you're eating.  I have heard that you can balance the fruit but having a little protein with it.

Robert - I find that I actually CRAVE bananas now!  It's crazy!  I just finished one, in fact.  I'm eating about two a day, and then usually a peach or pear.  Salads are a way of life now - at least I'm trying to make them such!

Kimberly - I definitely have some meat for dinner for protein.  I'm not eating tons of fruit, just 3-5 servings a day, which is what you're supposed to have isn't it?  :) Thanks!
