Darcy and I went to a movie this afternoon.  We went and saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie.  It was very good.  I thought that was very well acted, the story and special effects were also very good.  I don't wish to give the plot away, so I won't go into great deal about it, there was one line that I believe is important to not only detectives, but to everyone.

In short, Holmes was talking to Watson's fiance, and she mentioned that he came to fantastic conclusions from the smallest details.  His comment was important he said something to the effect that the smallest details are the most important of all.  Isn't that the truth, the smallest details in business are the ones that our clients remember best.  The simple Thank You Card, or the email telling them what is going on with their listing or with their deal.

I do believe that it is true, the Devil is in the details!

Thanks for the review, it's on my list to go see.  I also agree the details count. I try to counsel my clients to be brief and to the point if they interact with agents at a showing.  I like to talk to the other agents or homeowners when they make themselves available because they will often give me useful information for my clients.  Happy New Year.

Hello! I wouls love to see the movie... love SHerlock Holmes in the well written books... a little worried they changed the actual character a bit too much for me... but we shall see... Enjoyed the thought in your post though... details do make the difference in every aspect...Happy New Year!

Aw heck, you can't even go to a movie without thinking about real estate lol???  Glad you enjoyed it.  I saw "It's Complicated" the other night.  It was good also.  I guess you could relate that title to real estate also.

Who plays Sherlock?  Did the butler do it?  In what room?  With what?  I haven't a Clue.

Maria: it is a good movie, very entertaining.  The small things make a big difference!

Dan: It is worth seeing.  It is important to counsel our clients to make sure that we don't miss something!  Happy New Year!

Debra: I don't know if they have changed the character that much, it may bother some people, but I liked this encarnation of the character.  I thought that it was worth seeing.

Charles: The details in any business are what makes or breaks us!  I think that is especially true in an inspection business.

Jenny: It was just that one part, other than that I was caught up in the movie!  But I do tend to think about real estate an awful lot now that you mention it!

Jim: Robert Downey Junior plays Sherlock, and other than to say I don't recall a butler being a central character, I don't wish to give anything away.

Charles: I hope that you get a chance to enjoy it!  Have a great year!

I loved, loved, loved this movie.  I rarely go to the movies but my young adult children wanted to go and rarely do we get together so off we went.  I have the same taste in movies (for the most part) as them and sure enough I loved it.  I will watch it again when it comes out on video. This one would be a good one to buy.

It's the smallest details that can sometimes have the greatest effect. Maybe this will be a case (pun intended) of life imitating art in 2010.
