Everyone has heard of Vegas but where is Sparks, NV? Tucked away in the high desert of Northern Nevada, Sparks is sister city to Reno. With a growing population of over 80,000, the "City of Promise" is expanding in many ways. On the horizon are several new developments. One is "The Legends", at Sparks Marina which will attract a number of unique destination and entertainment retailers, restaurants, and night clubs to it's intended 800,000 square ft shopping/entertainment center. Commercial ventures have opened in East Sparks with the addition of several shopping centers. The "big box" stores have come in, much to the pleasure of local residents. With approximately 300 days of sunshine each year, world renown ski resorts just minutes away, a myriad of outdoor recreational activities including the sandy shores and brillant blue water of Lake Tahoe, year round special events like Hot August Nights and Best of the West Rib Cook Off, there is always something to do or admire about this region. The business economy is thriving, housing is plentiful, and Nevada offers many tax advantages. Sparks was recently named the number one place to do business by Inc. Magazine. Sparks housing ranges from about $200,000 to over one million and takes the form of condos to mansions. Rural property is available for ranching or an acre or two just for privacy. Most of the city areas have been developed into smaller lots and PUD's are common. In the midst of many subdivisions, you will still see horses and cattle in pasture. The area is surrounded by stately mountains and folks never get tired of admiring their views of the Sierras.
