As you look at each picture - what does your eye tell you? My impression is that while the homeowner's original room with the purple colors (which she loves) and all the accessories and personal pictures is too busy! The staged room, while a bright color, is more relaxing and inviting.

I'm a purple fanatic too and usually stay clear of red in the bedroom. Normally purple seems soothing and red is too stimulating. In this case, the red decor is easier on my eyes. There was too much going on in the homeowner's purple room. My eye didn't know where to go. The red room looks more spacious and calm. The less is more approach shows off the room and the view outside. Looks good!

It does look better Coco.  Like Rachel - my eyes were all over the place when it was purple.  You've toned it down significantly.

Thanks for posting.

The purple room had a cluttered feel to it.  I definitely prefer the red room.  It looks larger and fresher.  Good job!

Not only do allot of people really dislike purple there were just too many pattern repeats the. I like the red.

Thank you for all your comments! I like purple too, but it did have to go. The homeowners were so great to work with. Even though I knew they really didn't want to change anything, they used my ideas, knowing that I was the "professional".

Hi Coco

The bedroom is much calmer in the red then in the purple.

I love both red and purple...but the purple comforter and curtains were just too busy!  I almost always like solids better...just easier on the eyes.  Nice job!

I think the purple is too much and the theme is outdated. I like the red much better. I  looove red, though- for a bedroom, it could mean 'spicy nights'.

Nice comparrison.
