Any feedback would be appreciated, we will add new dishwasher and built-in oven in the near future.  I am thinking black with a little SS.

I want to put on a dinner party with you! I love this kitchen...is this yours? Your asking for feedback? You are cutting edge girl...you set the pace. All I would do is add a retro area rug under the barstools so they don't look so lonely.  Quickly...something like this: I show this rug in my Seattle project too because I love it so much and it covers a lot of decades. You know what I mean. Nice job!

Yes, Sheron, thank you, I love retro like you do.  What company has this area rug, it's really ideal for this area, so mod!!!!  This is my kitchen, I know the turquoise is loud and fairly bold but that is what I envisioned we bought the house in May last year.

Sheron, we did the renovating in 2 phases so we could keep on top of the budget, which was 5K but I went over when we did a few addtional things.  The grainite is Ubatuba and there is 220 sq. ft. of it.  The sink is a large single basin black quartz by Dekor, the cooktop is a GE Profile series it has no knobs, it is a completely flat black surface with 5 burners.  We took out the suspended cabinet that was above the sink to open up the area, what a difference that made.  We had two cooktop units eliminated one.  We have two built-in Thermador ovens and a warmer (circa 1978) we took out the far left one and built-in the microwave and below it is a shelf for cook books.  The single rail SS hardware was so expensive and no matter where I looked it was always the same price, that really busted the budget.  The final phase will be to get a new dishwasher, built-in oven and warmer and 9 or 10 more cabinet pulls then it will be complete.  All of my appliances are black, when we moved in we got a french door refrig.  (freezer on bottoms like the good old days, lol).  We replaced all the baseboards to black they were a yuccy industrial light brown and fallling down. Oh, the new faucet  is a Price Pfiester, I bought it on sale when we first moved in so in some ways like one of those (Kohler) commercials said the kitchen was built around it, hee, hee.  Lot of work but well worth it.  When our Realtor came to see everything and she is very only the conservative side, she had a buyer that would pay 75% more than what we paid the previous year because of everything we have done to the house.  I will take exterior pictures and let you see the new paint selections and landscaping we did soon.  Your imput is always so valuable to me.  We are not selling.

Joni, I am in love with your kitchen! What a great place for friends, martinis and maybe a 'girl from Ipanima' playing in the background.

Is the granite tile? It looks from the picture like tile rather than actual slab. I've been waiting for an opportunity to do tile for a client who thinks they can't afford granite!

Yes, with about 220 sq. ft. of counter tops, it was a 1/3 of the cost of solid fabrication, however, if you have a smaller kitchen solid is wonderful, in the last home we had we had a very small kitchen and we did that, either way I am just a big fan of natural stone.  This was Ubatuba.  I will use onyx and travertine in our master bath next year when we do that.  Daltile.com shows you the different varieties for your client and they will even mail you samples, free of the 12" X 12".  You are right about the kitchen, it's the hub of the house and get togethers and we actually had a few martini''s.  I like your choice of music, too.  Thanks and hopefully your client will go for the granite, the installation is the key, a good installer is a must and one other note, you can install the tiles directly on to laminate, that was a big plus, you have to take ithe laminate off of the backsplash, though.

OK now you have to get an Astro, too.  Looks like it would be easy to keep clean and it looks clean - nice lines.
