Fredericksburg, VA:  Have Fun and Raise Money for a Good Cause!

Last summer, I helped a happy young family buy their very first home.  They moved to Fredericksburg and all was well until last fall.  I got word from my former client, Jill, that one of her young twin daughters, Evy, had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer, AT/RT.  Evy, not even two at the time, was living in the hospital.  Her parents and sibling surviving day by day on the goodwill of family, friends and total strangers.

One of the things I had loved about Jill and her husband Brian from their house hunt and home buying process was their positivity and sense of humor.  They were delightful to be around.  And it's warmed my heart to see that positivity played out in the blog that Jill started for her ailing daughter.  The title says it all.  Evy Beats Cancer.  This family is pushing toward the best outcome and I just know they will get there.  Try finding a picture on the blog where someone isn't smiling.

There is an event being held in Fredericksburg, Jill & Brian's new home town, to honor their daughter Evy and help raise money for Evy's fight.  It's a 1.5 K race on April 10th, starting and ending at J. Brian's Tap Room at 200 Hanover Street, Fredericksburg.  I don't run, but I'll be there doing a fast walk.  I hope to see you too.  Just click this link for registration information

Hi Chris Ann-That is extra hard when a child gets cancer. I will say prayers that she will be OK. Hope your day and week are terrific. <SMILE>

It is always a heartbreaker when it is a young child like this. Will keep her in our prayers too and hope the event is a great success.

Hi Chris Ann.  Kudos on putting your blog to it's best possible use... helping others.  What a wonderful way to give back to your clients.  I will keep Jill, Brian and especially Evy in my prayers.

Sharon:  The treatments are making her sick, but she's been able to be home for an entire week.  That makes Mom, Dad and sister very happy.

Trey:  This little girl has a lot of people pulling for her.

Steve:  Thanks.  I knew the AR community would be supportive of this.

Jackie:  I also know an older child that went through another form of brain cancer.  The treatments and surgeries, while they were rough, were not the hardest part.  Learning to walk and talk again after brain surgery is very difficult.  I think Evy's advantage is that she is very young and this will be much faster for her.
