As the Metropolitan, D.C. area began the long digging out process, I had an even bigger problem than getting my driveway cleared. The TV had lost signal at some point during the day yesterday as the snow continued to fall, and fall. And, today is Super Bowl Sunday with the biggest football game of the year scheduled to begin in just a few hours.
Since we have DirecTV, I immediately thought of the dish. After finally venturing outside only to find my evergreens on their side, I could only imagine what my dish looked like. Sure enough, one glance up on the roof confirmed my suspicion.
There it was completely covered in snow. I went to the closest window to the dish and it became apparent that the long handled broom wasn't going to do the trick. I needed something twice that length. Down to the basement I went, and low and behold, I found the telescoping tree saw. This time I was able to reach the dish. After knocking it several times, the snow fell away.
The good news is that we have satellite reception once again. The bad news is that the HD channels don't work for some reason. Oh well, at least I can see the game after all!
Now, about getting the cars out. I wonder how much the snow plow man would take to make a detour up my driveway?
