Really and truly I did not know that I would find a kernel of wisdom in the Sunday Times Union. I read our local paper daily, and generally enjoy the Life section, the Metro section, the first section that highlights our local news.
But tucked away on page E-7 was my horoscope! I am an Aquarius. While this is not such a big deal, and goes along the lines of we all have birthdays and all have a horoscope that we either pay attention to (or not), they can be sort of fun. This week mine reads: Today is an 8. If you think love and work don't mix, you're mistaken. You can love what you do and do what you love.
Today is Super Bowl Sunday. I know that we originally were going to Mellow Mushroom on Fleming Island to watch the big screen, but that changed. I have shown homes this weekend, and while it changed our timeline and plans it's been nice!
I have been working with one couple who are buying their first home--the first challenge is which neighborhood. There are 2 that are completely appropriate and equal in most ways. It will come down to the 'I can't live without this one' moment for one or both of them! I love and enjoy that moment, it makes everything we do come together---
The other couple I just met. Not so much just met as we just met again face to face. I have participated in the Premier Bridal Show for the past couple years. And with that I have tried to stay in touch with the young couples......and now they are starting to buy! This particular day got off to a rocky start---a roughly worn home, distressed just really does not do it justice. Then they wanted to see more--without notice. So, I asked if they were ready to sit down and search through MLS. That I was happy to show them 2 homes this afternoon in this general area, but that we'd have to meet again to see more. I know that I should have been better prepared, but I had requested they call me yesterday to see more---
Good stuff! And as we had lunch at McDonald's (their choice) we sort of bonded over the craziness of meeting and going and such. I went over my buyer packet, asked them to take care of the 5-5-5 homework page, and then we were OFF! The first home was a hit--and while they want to 'make sure' it's the right one. It is, and we all know it! Now it's a matter of making it real. The second home was interesting--the closet has a cut out with a type of metal box(?) that goes through the wall, about 6 x 6 inches in diameter..... not sure what that was used for:-)
So how does this tie in with my horoscope? Other than I will be another year older shortly (yikes!) I really do love what I do, and I am doing what I love. I am grateful every day that I have the freedom and the option to choose my career choice, and that my family supports the sometimes long hours (or days, or weeks). I am thankful that I get to work with you, my buyer friends, because you give me a refreshing look at each home. Because each time we view I see something through your eyes, and they are different from mine. Because whenever there is success, and your eyes shine, I know that I am right where I am supposed to be!
