Ashland was the original route of the Boston Marathon and still runs through downtown every year. Ashland Massachusetts - Warren ClockThe town of Ashland is considered part of the MetroWest which also consists of Natick, Holliston and Hopkinton.

A prominent citizen of the town was Henry E. Warren who in 1916 invented the first electric clock and founded Telechron which, in partnership with General Electric, manufactured electric clocks in town until 1979.

To honor this invention, Ashland High School sports teams proudly call themselves "The Clockers."

Claudette:  Ashland, MA sounds like a great place to call home.  I love the photo of the lake with all the autumn colors on the trees.

Claudette - Friends of ours lived in Ashland for a few years. When we visited them, we went hiking and stopped at a local apple orchard, but I don't recall the name. It was in the fall and the foliage was spectacular. This is a very nice write up about the community.

Judy:

Ashland has some very nice places for hiking.  One place is the Ashland State Park. I lived adjacent to it for a number of years and my cat loved roaming in the woods. I now live on the other side of town, closer to Southborough.  Thanks...
