Miami, FL, February 15, 2010 — Since 2002, the Furniture Exchange has been serving the Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne communities as an upscale furniture consignment store. On Thursday, February 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., the store will serve wine and cheese to new and loyal customers at a special event.
Located at 6020 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL, 33143, the Furniture Exchange will host an evening of wine, cheese, fine furniture, home accessories and art on consignment. “We hope to create an increased awareness of our store and our services with this event,“ says proprietor Miriam Gilmore. “We invite the public to get to know us and learn more about our all of the different, unique items and brands we carry.”
“When you come into the Furniture Exchange,” she adds, “we try to give you that small town shop feel. We believe it's nice to walk in and be greeted with a ‘Hey, how are you?’, a ‘How was your trip?’ or ‘How are the kids?’”
That evening, guests can browse the store’s inventory of designer furniture and listen to special guest speaker and noted local decorator / author Jane Walker discuss furniture placement and being a conscious consumer. The night will also feature jewelry and stationary vendors and a display of the works of local artist Rodney Vargas, who most recently enjoyed a showing at the South Miami Art Walk, among other local art shows.
This event is free and open to the public; must be 21 and over to sample the wine. Please note that pieces WILL NOT be accepted on consignment during the event. The Furniture Exchange houses more than 3,000 square feet of goods from brands such as Baker, Bernhardt, Pottery Barn, Ralph Lauren, Roche Bobois, Thomasville and more at 50% to 70% off retail prices.
