B & J SMOKEHOUSE RESTAURANT, SHELL KNOB, MISSOURI
The following post was written a week before a serious fire about demolished the restaurant. The fire did not put the new owner out of business. Being an inventive fellow, serious about serving the public, Brian Mitts has reopened a temporary barbq with outdoor service, shortened menu, same great taste.
Shell Knob's popular barbeque changed hands this winter. B & J Smokehouse's new owner. Brian Mitts has several years of hospitality and food service experience. He moved his family away from the cold and snow of Germantown, Wisconsin, which is near Milwaukee, to become part of small town life in the Ozarks.
He plans on running a year round facility so area residents will have access to B & J's all the time, not just during the summer boating season.
Brian is retaining the traditional items customers have grown to love and expect. He is keeping the same recipies, so returning customers will not be disappointed in the tastes they crave. The menu has been greatly enlarged to appeal to a broader range of appetites, as have the hours of business. They are open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Hours will be expanded in the summer.
New menu items include 'All You Can Eat Wisconsin Fish Fry' during their evening dinner hours, plus a variety of Leinenkugel's beers.
DOCKSIDE SERVICE will be available this summer. B & J's has four slips in a dock in the cove behind the restaurant. They plan on offering food service to be delivered to your boat. Phone in the order and it will be brought direct to you dockside in your boat.
