Teamwork

By
Real Estate Agent with Compass Real Estate SP98362422

I recently formed a team with two other agents in my office whom I respect very much. We each have different strengths and yet we are compatible and enjoy working together.

Questions for fellow agents who are members of  a group or team:

Any advice on how to create good synergy from the beginning?

Anything we should look out for?

Tips for setting goals for a group?

How do you support one another?

I wanna do this right, meet our goals, give 110%, learn from my fellow agents, and have a great time.

Here's to a new beginning - a new challenge - and a successful journey ahead!

I have been on two mega teams and have the following advice:

1.  Always be fair and consistent in everything especially the lead distribution.

2.  Decide early on how you will distribute leads and what works for you office.

3.  Support one another in everything including successes!

4.  Do fun things together outside of the office such as a once a quarter event.  Bowling, movie, etc.

5.  Communicate, communicate, communicate!  Let everyone have a voice.

I know that none of this is new but from my experience, these issues are some of the most important ones that I can share with you.

Best wishes to your success!

I was on a team once, for about 6 months and my PB told us to write an exit plan now while we were working well together.  It will be a mess if and when we ever go our seperate ways, which we did.

Ellie, a lot of it has to do with how you plan to share and split business and referrals.  Make sure this communication is absolutely clear to everyone - you might want to start it out in writing and relax when you are getting things moved along.  My team was developed over time without a specific commitment and we sort of gradually worked into it.  Our work ethic, competence, values are the same.  There is no commission worth getting you or your client into a lawsuit.  Good luck - it can be very rewarding!

Yvette, Evelyn, Paula: Thank you very much for your comments/suggestions. I like the fact that the advice included how to get started as well as how to plan for an exit when a member leaves the team. Great advice!
