"Elderly lady" continued ... "my South Florida real estate journey"

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I managed to get a contract for t this 95 year old lady's condo in Hallandale Beach, Florida who was moving to a retirement home. During the process, as I was helping her packing her belongings, I found some pieces of jewelry she had hidden behind her china. She had told me she thought someone had broken into her home and stolen them from her. Well, you would not believe it, but the day she was moving out, the movers found a few more pieces hidden underneath her mattress and they kindly gave them to her. She was dumbfounded. Unfortunately, we have not closed yet because she threw away all the papers she thought were not important including an open permit for an alarm system she wanted to install because she thought someone kept breaking into her home. So now, after we explained to the City she mistakenly threw away the permit I am waiting for them to come, inspect and cancel the permit. Now, she is happily settled in her community and G-d willing we will be able to close on her home pretty soon.Parkview Condo

Adriana have her family or someone she trusts go through everything she is disposing before it goes away. People will hide stuff in pockets and strange places. I remember my Greagrandmother had money rolled up in an old carpet in the basement.

Adriana- you have done an amazing job with this woman. I know it hasn't been easy. When someone is elderly we have an even greater responsibility to provide the understanding and service that they require!
