114 County Road 29

Only $189,900.

Buy your very own piece of history with this house. 114 County Road 29 is one of the original houses in Consecon. It was built circa 1845 and you can feel the history when you step inside this charming property. Many of the original features are still on display, including some of the old trim.

This large 5 bedroom house has many upgrades while retaining its old world charm. Some of the upgrades include new shingles in 2007, newer windows, a high efficiency furnace in 2007, 200 amp service in the garage, new water heater in 2008, renovated kitchen in 2009, new patio door in 2009, and a certified wood stove. You`ll fall in love with the open kitchen, formal dining room and large back yard. The rooms are all very large, and there is a great flow to this house.

This house has been featured in the book The Settler's Dream by Peter John Stokes, a book about the historical houses in Prince Edward County. One of the more unique features in this house is a Widow's Walk, where the ladies of Consecon would sit and wait for their husbands to arrive home from the lake. As the story goes, if a lady did not see her husband disembark, she knew right away that she was a widow.

Consecon is a great place to live and play, and the house is only a five minute walk away from the lake shore. Consecon also features the only convenience store in the area that sells beer and alcohol, so there's never a fear of running out of beer and wine when your friends come by to use the back yard for a barbeque. The village itself has a fabulous restaurant and is only 15 minutes south of the 401. Consecon is one of the more historic towns in Southern Ontario, and is only minutes away from the great wineries of Prince Edward County.

hi Malcolm,

I miss Prince Edward County so much....I lived on Lakeside Drive on Lake Consecon for a number of years and loved to go into Consecon to pick up things or for dinner. There's a man there who owns a bait shop and he has a pet bullfrog. He has actually trained this bullfrog to come when called!
