Screaming MeMe in Palm Springs

By
Real Estate Agent with Teles Properties

I was having my morning fix of caffeine at Koffi today, when I received an email from Brian Block of Alexandria, VA.  My first MeMe had been delivered.

Here are 5 things you wanted to know about me, but were afraid to ask:

My Love of Travel- I have always wanted to travel to exotic locations all my life but never had the opportunity.  Well over the last 2 years, I have been making up for lost time. I have traveled to Hong Kong, Macau, Italy, England, France, and Peru.  My favorite spot so far has been Machu Picchu, now one of the new 7 wonders of the world.  I am going to be in Buenos Aires at the end of the year for Christmas & New Year's.

I Want to Buy a Vowel, an "E"- I was on a Wheel of Fortune  episode seven years ago.

I came in second place and won $4500.  I would have been first place, if only I had solved the final puzzle in time.  The category was Classic TV, and the answer to the puzzle was "The Dick Van Dyke Show".   I still have the episode on video, and watch it every so often.  Oh, the agony of defeat!!!

Skydiving- I went on my first skydive three years ago with my friend Sean because no else would do it.  The rush of jumping out an airplane at 13,000 feet was the most exhilarating experience of my life.   I use that experience to help me realize that I can do anything I set my mind to.

Film Noir Movies- Ever since I was a kid, I would watch all the old black & white movies from the 40's & 50's.  The movies always had the femme fatales, scandalous storylines, and of course, murder.  My mother thought I was crazy!!  I love when the Film Noir Festival comes to Palm Springs.  My favorite movies are Double Indemnity & Mildred Pierce

Brussels Sprouts- Hate is a very strong word, but in this case I'll make an exception.  I was a kid when I first laid my eyes on this strange vegetable.  I could not stand the taste or the smell of the mini cabbages.  It reminded of the pod people in the original movie of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".

Thanks Brian for choosing me to MeMe.  Now you know a little more about me on a personal level.  Now I have to choose 3 people to MeMe, and the winners are:

Lexa Montierth- She liked my Localism post, and featured it in Localism Week in Review.

Stacey Ward- She was one the first people to respond to my post on my Journey into Blogging.

Christy Powers- She wanted to see me do my "happy dance" after I got my 1st featured post.

I am looking forward to reading everyone's MeMe.  Happy Blogging!!

Harold, thanks for sharing.  My sister-in-law hiked the Inca Trail up to Machu Picchu a few years back and had a great experience.  My wife had told me I would need to go skydiving before we got married or else take out a big life insurance policy, so I'm not sure that's something I'll ever do.  I have been parasailing though.  Brussel sprouts aren't that bad...

Brian,

Machu Picchu was a great experience.  Climbing Waynapicchu, which took an hour to climb, and standing at the site of the old temple, was incredible.  More travel plans are in the works for the next year.  Have a great day!!!

Harold -- Congrats on a great MEME and thanks for sharing.  I envy the places you have been to and agree in your hate of brussel sprouts.  Aloha

There is no such thing as a good brussels sprout. You get a 5 for stating the obvious.

This is a fun post with nice graphic teasers to get us into it.

Cheers... and thanks for commenting on something we did a few days ago.

Great meme, Harold !  The Nazca Plateau has a very strong pull on me due to a dream I once had so I was very interested to read that Machu Picchu is the favourite of your travels. It sounds like you are having a great time travelling ~ how fortunate that you are able to do this . I look forward to reading about some of these trips.

It must have been very exciting to have been on the Wheel of Fortune...

I'm a vegetarian and I LOVE brussel sprouts (although I hated them when I was a kid). They're my favourite vegetable.  I smiled when I read your post....

Jo-Anne,

Thanks for your comments.  Being able to climb to the top Waynapicchu was a very mystical experience for me.  Had I started blogging 2 years ago, I would have shared all my experiences with everyone here.  Stay tuned for the next adventure.  Have a great day!!

Harold!!!  I loved this MeMe.  This was really really good!  especially the wheel of fortune part... that must have been exciting.  I always wondered if the contestants really get the money and then if they do is it eaten up with taxes.  But anyway, it was good to learn more about you.

Kimberly,

Thank you for visiting!!  Wheel of Fortune was a lot of fun.   Once the cameras stop rolling and you have won money, they whisk you into a room to sign all the tax papers.  I receive my money about a month after the show aired.
