During his 30 years as a middle school coach and physical education teacher in the Cherry Creek School District, Doug Mable has seen the positive impact sports have on young people.

In addition, student-athletes have fun while they improve their athletic abilities and fitness levels, and they develop important skills such as team work and time-management, which benefits them throughout their lives.

In Cherry Creek Schools, more than fifty percent of middle school students - more than 5,000 kids! - participate in middle school sports; basketball, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. But some of them cannot afford the required participation fee, especially in these challenging economic times.
