Passing the reins....

By
Home Inspector with Capital City Inspections TREC #7290

For the past 6 years I have attended most all of the TREC Inspector Advisory Committee meetings and reported my observations and meeting notes on the InterNACHI message board as well as my personal company blog, here at ActiveRain and elsewhere. I have also held the semi-official title of InterNACHI Legislative Liaison for Texas (although Regulatory Affairs Representative might be more apropos).

I’ve decided it is time to pass the reins on to someone new now. I plan to devote more time and energy to maintaining my inspection business as well as doing a little traveling to visit my kids and grand-kids who are in separate parts of the country.

There is a lot of work to do and great opportunities for INACHI-Texas in regards to the activities proposed at the recent TREC Inspectors Summit. That initiative deserves your support.

My understanding is that San Antonio inspector Scott Emerson will assume the role of InterNACHI legislative representative in Texas.

Thanks John. Spending some time in Missouri with my daughter and her family and in California with my son sure has some appeal to it right now. I'll still keep a focus on my inspection business here in Austin though as well.

Athough I'll sure miss ya, and reading the fine reports you always posted. I sure understand you wantten to be able devote more time to your Inspection business and visiting your kids. I do hope you'll pop in every now and then to let us know how ya are a do-en. I'm sure glad to have gotten to meet ya here in the ActiveRain community.

If ya like to fish and would like to know of some mighty fine fishen holes in Missoura just drop me a line of the area of Missoura you'll be in, and I'll tell ya of some mighty fine places.

I'm a go-en right over to let Carl know of your blog post.

Michael: Well deserved my friend. We really apprciate all that you have done, just in case no one told you. I'm beginning to think along those same lines, would love to go fishing but don't ever seem to have the time. Have a safe journey, enjoy your kiddos, and drop by sometime for a visit.

Thanks guys. The traveling will be sporadic, at least for the next few months. I'm trying to get in a financial position to buy a new truck and 5th wheel to do my visiting. So, I'll be around just not devoting as much time to watching out for what TREC is up to.

Dale, my daughter and her family live just west of St. Louis near Chesterfield/St Charles area. They are about a mile from the Missouri river and the L&C trail...real nice area.

My son and I moved his (our) sailboat from the Galveston Bay area to Ventura, CA last summer so I want to go spend some time there as well. There's always work to do on a boat!
