Tomorrow is the Heartland Blood Bank community blood drive. I am a little anxious having never given blood before. I know it is a good thing to do but have always been a little squeamish about it. Especially if it is my blood. I will update after the drive to let everyone know how it went.

Eat well before and good luck. You might get lucky and get a hot nurse to take your blood. Hope all goes well. Being in the same State, I might need it,.

No Worries Randy . . . it will be over before you know it.  My husband and I have been donating blood for many years and it is a really simple way to do a lot of good for others in need and you get cookies when  you're done!!

You're giving blood for the rest of us who can't.  Even my daughter wants to give, but she just doesn't weigh enough.  My own mother received a couple of gallons last year to help her through chemo treatments.  I thank you and everyone who gives for saving her life and the lives of others who need you!

So we are to assume you couldn't do it? And if you did, it wasn't that bad was it?

I hope to assuage your fears...I have been a faithful donor for almost a decade now. I ABHOR needles (had to be held down by every limb when I got stitches once) but I take this torture because so many people benefit. Most of the population's not eligible, yet so many need. I hope your experience went well, and that you become a repeat donor. I'm two gallons and two pints strong. =).
