According to RealtyTrac, default notices (Notices of Default and Lis Pendens) were reported on a total of 106,208 U.S. properties during the month of February, an increase of 3 percent from the previous month but down 3 percent from February 2009. Default notices were down 25 percent from their peak of more than 142,000 in April 2009 but were still more than three times the number they were four years ago in February 2006.

If you or someone you know in Pierce County, Washington is facing the possibility of foreclosure, you need to understand that you are not alone.

Today, 1 out of every 10 homeowners in America is behind on mortgage payments. These are tough and frustrating times. Now more than ever, it's important to identify your options. Foreclosure can be avoided, your credit can be saved, and your financial future can be salvaged.

Through my experience handling distressed properties, I've found that homeowners today have more questions than answers about their circumstances. I have created a site to help you understand the possible solutions to foreclosure, as well as provide a detailed explanation of short sales, which may be the best course of action for some homeowners.

Sandy, it seems like helping them get OUT of these loans is much harder than helping them get IN these loans!!  Buckle up, it's going to be another wild year of short sales & distressed properties...
