Recent post on the DotLoop Blog  refered to an article on the Millennials (aka Gen Y) changing the face of Real Estate through  technology.  After reading the article, Do We Believe in the Millenials I took home one insightful statement/questions "Real Estate Agents may wonder why they should care about the Generation Y age group ages 18-30." According to senior analyst at NAR, "These unique home buyers are the youngest of the home buying segment and are the most likely to purchase a home in the next two years in comparison to any other age group."

Evidence of Gen Y, first time home buyers influencing the Real Estate Market to modify marketing and business practices as a whole is a reflection of where the market will be in a couple year (if not less).  As a previous Gen Y buyer, a soon to be Gen Y seller, and again soon to be Gen Y buyer, I concur on Nick Sweeney's statement, "The article is interesting, if not somewhat bleak, but as a Gen Y guy myself, I can tell you one thing: when I'm ready to sell(buy) my house, I'll be looking(and negotiationg the deal) online."
