Control When Your House is Shown

By
Real Estate Agent with CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green Edmond, OK

Busy?  I bet you are.  Our schedules can be crazy between work, car pool, lacrosse, and baseball.  And aren't dance recitals and graduations right around the corner?!  Yikes!

I can remember when my daughter was in the 5th grade.  She was taking dance over at Star Steps in Edmond, played on the school chess team and played softball (I'm tired just thinking about it!)  There were many days that we left the house looking like a train wreck!  It was all we could do to get the right gear, snacks and water bottles then head out the door in one piece!  How about you?

With a schedule like that, selling your house can feel like things are spinning out of control.  The last thing I want as an Edmond Realtor, is for you to feel stressed out when it comes to the showing of your house!

I can help you maintain control regarding when your house is shown and not shown.

Let's talk about your family schedule.  If your kids have soccer practice on Thursday's at 5:30 and you know that every week you only have time to race in, change your clothes, grab some food and the kids and head out the door; let me know.  If every Monday your son brings home a friend from school and then you car pool them to Edmond Lacrosse; let me know.  These evenings are probably not ideal for showings.  So, why stress about it?  Get the kids and the gear and don't worry about leaving the house picture perfect!

For all my listings, I use a Showing Assist application for scheduling.  With this application I can block out entire days or times your house is unavailable.  Let me say that again.  You determine when your house is available to be shown, not me.

When your house is listed by me and realtor's are scheduling showing times, they will see that on Thursday's after 5:00, your house is simply unavailable for showings.  You won't be bothered with requests for showings.  You won't feel stressed or obligated to say yes to a showing that really is not convenient for you.  You won't have to race home during practice to clean up the clutter you left behind.  You can focus on your son playing lacrosse and that realtor can select a different time to show the house.

If this approach sounds like it may make an already stressful time a little less hectic for you and your family, give me a call at the CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green office 405-359-7400.  Just ask for Kristyn.  Let's talk about getting your Edmond house on the market, on your terms!

Hi Kristyn~  Is there a program called Showing Assist?  My fear would be if someone is in from out of town, it would be eliminating a potential buyer right from the start....

nice in theory; but when your home goes on the market it becomes a product; it is no longer a home.   how many times I have had buyers in the car and they see a home that they previously were not interested in from the mls/pictures.  when the get into the neighborhood - they want to see it.  a pain for the owners; yes - but sometimes this is the pain of selling.

I always use the Wal-Mart analogy.  I ask sellers how successful Wal-Mart would be if they were only opened weekends, or closed Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.

The more you allow your home to show, the quicker it will sell.  The quicker it sells, the more money you will get for it.
