Kimberley - I've been following the Goldman Sachs deal for the past few days and have already posted on the topic twice. While the complex legal issues involved in the federal lawsuit are a topic that few find interesting, such instruments as those created by Goldman actually increased the depth of the housing crisis by providing a market for subprime mortgages long after the market would have collapsed. There are consequences far beyond the issues listed in the government's complaint.
