SHORT SALES

You know, I am SOOO fed up with the unbelievable amount of crap we, as REALTORS have to contend with. Due to this, I am writing this nasty little blog.                           

It's bad enough we need to stay up with all the changes that are constantly occurring, It's bad enough that we must relay this information to our clients and keep their deals straight..... it's bad enough we need to absorb the brunt of the market and figure out the best way hand-feed it to our clients.....It's bad enough that this is NOT and easy JOB and we work hard to be excellent, but now.... we are expected to believe that our 5-10-15+ years of experience and hands on "know-how" is not legitimit untill we get some $300.00 course under our belts...... Well this is a load of "horse hockey". And many of us could teach those courses.     

Well, I've been working in the distressed market "world" for many years now.... about 7- who's counting (and 12 as a realtor- again, who's counting")lol. I've watched this market go from BRAVE agents climbing in through windows, helping evicted tenants get rentals, cleaning up our own properties (because there was NO "preservation specialist" at the time). Shoot, I even had to get drug rehab info. along with shelter info. just to entice my "squatters" to get healthy and get out. Now, the lenders want me to get "certified" or "trained"--- over and over again... every lender is dragging every RED cent we have, out of us... to get us trained...... well, if this isnt bad enough.... NOW, that "cash-in" "movement" is moving to short sales.

                                          

Short sales require certification now...hmm...really?. (Have they even read the HAFA guidelines?? (If you havent, you should, they are VERY UNREALISTIC PROTOCALS!!!!)

Seems as though now, I'm being offered a boat load of certifications and designations that will allow me to handle a short sales..... I guess without them I'm nothing, or so they want you to believe. Ive recieved offers from 5 different "shortsales" specialty companies this week alone. All of them offer referrals, listings, all kinds of "support", as long as they can train you for 300-600 dollars yearly...hmmm

                                                               

This fallicy is quickly destroying  the process itself and I'm really tired of being advised I have no experience nor training nor ability to function in this "short-sales" world without their certifications. Well, heres a little NOTICE to all of you CREATORS of, or sellers of, Designations and CERTIFICATIONS!!!!!

 Experienced REALTORS are HARD to FIND>>> and YOUR CLASSES  are a load of B.S>>>>>>>> Yes, I have taken quite a few of them, and can honestly say... a waste of my money. ...YOU CAN'T TEACH WHAT WE KNOW for $300-600 dollars......

So, lets all take a looksy at ourselves, and why don't we, as realtors, sell who we are and what we know. I'm willing to bet this will get you a listing faster than that certification will.

When I started the plan was to pile on designations. Then I realized most require a renewal fee. Wouldn't it be great if colleges started charging a 100 a year to keep your degree "active"?? What a scam!
