The Coca-Cola owned Minute Maid headquarters has been located in Houston, Texas for over 21 years.  They are now becoming sweeter by moving to the city named after sugar... Sugar Land, Texas in Fort Bend County.  The 400 employees of Minute Maid's headquarters will be relocated to the brand new office building currently under construction in the First Colony Town Square.  Coca-Cola is selling the 12 story building that they have been in for many years to make the move to Sugar Land.  There will be no job losses and the move will not affect any of the distribution operations across the country.  According to sources, the move will be in approximately 18 - 24 months from now.    Welcome to Sugar Land! How sweet it is!

Nicely written blog. I like the extra effort you have made including a well sized photograph.

So glad it's not going to effect your market - that 's the last thing you'd need right now.

Hi David,
Nice post and information.  Agree with Cyndee  the last thing we need is something that would adversely affect our businesses.

David: My wife use to have two accounts in Sugar Land. Nalco and Imperial Sugar. Are they still there?

Nice blog on updating Minute Maid and new office location.

Nalco is still there I believe, but Imperial Sugar is definitely gone.  There has been talk of converting the old sugar factory into a high rise condominium complex.

To me, that is responsible corporate behavior.  I am sure they could have sold the building in Houston and moved everyone to Atlanta, but instead I think they did the "right" thing!  Congrats to Coca-Cola and to the city of Sugar Land... this is great news!
