Our life in urban America is all about the discount cards. You have a Costco card, a Petco card-practically every store has its own membership card for deeper discounts.
I went into the drugstore this morning (a national chain) to purchase a graduation card for the child of a friend, and the cashier asked me for my membership card. The card (a simple card with no bells and whistles) cost over $3.00. That's crazy--$3.00 for a piece of cardstock!
