KaBoom! a national non-profit organization committed in providing play
spaces for children, is hosting a 50-day challenge. They are looking for
five to 15 stay-at-home moms or dads to take the challenge of visiting 50
parks, playgrounds or other playspaces in Mesa this summer. This includes
visiting state parks, lakes, spray pads, basketball or tennis courts, golf
courses or other areas where you can take your kids to play.

to visiting up to 50 parks, playgrounds or playspaces, you also need to
take photos of each site and post the photos and written comments on
KaBoom! Facebook fan page.
Mesa has 56 parks that include 10 sports complexes, 133 Basins, 2 Golf
Courses, 5 Recreation Centers, and 8 pools. That totals to 204 places to
play! So get on board with the challenge and put Mesa on the map as your
favorite place to play.
In 2009, Mesa was one of 93 cities nationwide to be recognized by KaBoom
as a "Playful City USA." KaBoom, along with hundreds of volunteers,
helped to construct two new playgrounds in Mesa, at Park of the Canals and
Beverly Park.
