I made the most boneheaded move a person could make today! I forgot my laptop in front of Starbucks! As we all know the laptop can be replaced the CONTENTS CANNOT!!
I had no clue until my daughter innocently asked if she could use it to look something up on the internet!
"Sure it's sitting on my other desk" I replied. She responds "I don't see it" I probably set in the entryway as I came in earlier, NO, Let me check my car, it's not in the back seat, it's probably in the trunk? HOLY %&@%#) (Smokes) It dawned on me at that moment I LEFT MY LAPTOP AT STARBUCKS IN VALENCIA, WHAT A BONEHEAD!!
As I began looking up their phone number on line I get a phone call it's a gal from Starbucks "Is this Pablo". "Yes" I replied "we have your backpack here" "Is my laptop still in it" She responds "Yes it is" YES!!!!. "I'll be there in 10 minutes" As I am driving there I thought to myself what if a dishonest person had found my backpack and stolen it. How would that have impacted me? Not a pretty thought!!! Thank God !!
I later learned from the Starbuck employee that a customer had been sitting outside of Starbucks earlier in the day and noticed my backpack was unattended for quite some time and she turned it into the store.
Sometimes I get a little cynical about my fellow man "person" in this world today. But today two people reminded me that there is a heck of a lot more good people than bad!! (One) The person who turned my laptop in and (two) the person at Starbucks who called me to let me know it was there. Two honest people reminded me of that today. I left my card with this person at Starbucks and asked her to give it to the customer if she sees her again and to have her call me. I want to write about her and let her know how much I appreciate her doing what she did.
She's one of the local heroes I like writing about here in Santa Clarita, I may never know who she is, but I would like to thank her from the bottom of my heart!
Instead of writing this blog on my laptop tonight I may have been forced to use a pencil and paper. THE HORROR!!
Just as an FYI about the girl working at Starbucks who called me. She didn't want me to recognize her or write about her. But I want Starbucks and its customer's to know that the Starbucks on Rye Canyon and Newhall Ranch Rd in Valencia is the place to go for an honest cup of Joe!
