I've often considered French Valley, Ca. and the majority of "Newer" Winchester Ca. a great area to buy a home. If you're not familiar with this area it's nestled between Temecula and Murrieta Ca. The far reaching eastern boarders sit next to Diamond Valley Lake (http://www.dvlake.com/). The good majority of these two cities are both part of the great and distinguished Temecula, Ca. and Murrieta, Ca. school districts. I understand the importance of school districts for many families; you want to make sure your children will get a quality education while being safe at the same time. My children are part of Temecula Valley Unified School District and my wife and I are thrilled with their education. This is one of the reasons we moved from Orange County, Ca. to Temecula, Ca.
French Valley and Winchester (the newer Winchester) are very family oriented much like Temecula and Murrieta, Ca. The good majority of the residents here are young to mid-aged couples with children. Drive-by any of the soccer fields, baseball/softball fields and parks on the weekends and you will see what's important for these residents....family! If you're looking for a wild night life, this probably wouldn't be a good fit for you. However, there are plenty of trendy restaurants with full bars to enjoy some adult beverages. We can't forget that Pechanga (http://www.pechanga.com/ )Resort and Casino is right next door and if you're looking for the night life of San Diego, Ca...well, that's just 45 to 60 minutes away.
This is a great place to call home. My family and I did for the first six years we've lived in Temecula Valley. There remains a great opportunity to buy a single family residence here without having to break the bank. It's possible to buy a 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 3000 sq ft home for under $300,000! I just sold a similar home to a growing family for just $230,000!
