Love is Everywhere but Can You See it? Sending You Some Love Signs from Red Lodge, Montana
I love where I live in Red Lodge, Montana (The Soul of Red Lodge) and I love taking photos!
I decided to find a theme for the pictures I have taken in the past week (alas! I always take photos wherever I go but as quick as I am at taking photos, I am not as quick when it comes to posting them here on AR). As I was looking at the photos of the red-winged black birds I had taken in Red Lodge, Montana, I saw signs of love in the air, carved on a wooden chair, on a license plate, on copper art and in the wings and singing of the red-winged balck bird. It is then that I realized this would be the theme for these series of photos. Check it out for yourself and see if you can see the love signs in the following photos.
Signs of love in the air (do you see a two colored heart?)
Signs of love carved on a wooden chair
Signs of love on a license plate. This is not my license plate but one I recently ran across. I not only love mountains (by the way Montana is Spanish for mountains) but I also love the Beartooth Nature Center (my special license plate also proudly displays the Beartooth Nature Center as part of my license annual dues goes as donation towards this Native Wildlife Refuge in Red Lodge, Montana)
Signs of love in artwork - Artist's name: John Rose from Northwestern Montana. This artwork is made using copper that is hammered by hand for texture texture and shape, and then heated to various temperatures to achieve its unique and individual colors. I ran across this artwork at my friends house (it was a recent purchase). I took several photos of it but this one with flash and on a neutral black background (my friend's raincoat) sure added a nice electrifying effect and made the colors stand out even more. What can I say? I love experimenting and adding a personal "touch" to my photos. :)
Signs of love on the wings and singing of the red-winged black bird (an almost black and white photo with a colorful heart, although less obvious than in the first photo).
Note:The red-winged black bird maybe one of the most common birds in North America (I know they are also common in Ontario, Canada as seen in a recent post by Jenny Kotulak: Wordless Wednesday - Bareback Deer Riding). Interestingly, this bird is normally associated with freshwater marshes and its breeding range extends from Northern Canada to Central America. The male birds have territories and in fact, in one region up to 15 females were found within a single male's territory!
Love, love, love... and as the Beatles said it best "All you need is love". And yes, there is also a group in ActiveRain called LOVE AT ACTIVERAIN.
Love is everywhere!!! Live, Laugh and Love! :)
Feel free to post a photo of a funny and/or unexpected sign of love you recently came across in your area.
I leave you with one of my favorite songs about love. Just click on the following link: Love One Another (with some Bafana / 2010 World Cup flavor to it) and feel free to dance to it.
Have a lovely day!
