Several months ago the Arizona Department of Commerce offered $3.5 million in appliance rebates to consumers on a first come-first served basis. In a matter of hours the money ran out. But then not everyone used the rebate they received.
So now the next round is here, and it totals about $3.5 million. It is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, also known as stimulus funds. About $5.8 million was made available for actual rebates, which in the first round ranged from $75 to $425 each.
This time you have to buy the appliance and then request the rebate. The rebates will be given out until December 31st or until the money is gone.
The start time is July 1 at 6 a.m. to check the website Arizonarebates.com to see if funds are still available. The Department of Commerce thinks that funds will be plentiful. But, who knows? You may need one for your home and this would be the time to get a new one and be a energy-saving greenie.
