How much involvement should a broker/owner have in the plan and future direction of an agent?  I saw a comment in my last post titled "Every Day Is Game Day in the Real Estate Business" and it really hit home with me.  Thinking back to my early years in this business, I would have had a much easier time of organizing my business and planning for the future, if I had worked for a broker/owner who gave guidance and provided mentoring.

Broker/owners have many roles and their level of risk and liability in their business is to the nth degree.  It makes sense that brokers have a handle on and some participation in the design and direction of each of their agent's plan to work in this business.  Most agents do not have a plan because they don't know where to start or how to create one.  Just some simple discussion may initiate enough energy to spark some thought with that agent.

Just as ability and level of intelligence vary widely from one agent to another, so, too, will their plans for the future and their amount of production for the benefit of themselves and the brokerage firm.  It would be reasonable for the Broker/owner to dedicate some time to meet one on one with each agent and assist in creating a plan of attack.  It's just another way to win this battle, survive the market conditions and strengthen your business.
