One of the things I enjoy most when I have clients moving to the Charlotte, North Carolina area is taking them on a tour of my beloved Queen City. I specialize in the luxury home, estate and condo real estate market so my tour takes us from one end to the other of the 'luxury corridor' in South Charlotte. I most often start Uptown.
The downtown area of Charlotte is known by locals as either Uptown or Center City. Here in Uptown you can enjoy a breathtaking ballet, beautiful opera and a wide variety of exciting stage shows. Uptown Charlotte also features numerous festivals throughout the year, off-the-beaten-path venues that tout musical genres from jazz to alternative rock, gallery crawls and truly exceptional dining.
Charlotte was named one of the "Top 50 Cities that Sizzle" by Restaurant News Magazine. This is in no small part due to the Uptown area bursting with invigorating restaurant concepts, regional favorites and countless hotspots serving up your favorite culinary delights with elegance and local flavor.
Children and adults alike will find plenty to do Uptown. Explore Discovery Place, Imaginon, movie theatres including the IMAX theatre, the EpiCentre, the new NASCAR Hall of Fame, or take in one of our professional sporting events. Uptown Charlotte is home to both the NFL Carolina Panthers' Bank of America stadium and the NBA Charlotte Bobcats arena. Uptown is also just a quick drive to the Charlotte Motor Speedway - home to three yearly NASCAR Sprint Cup races, our own American ice hockey team the Charlotte Checkers and the minor league baseball team the Charlotte Knights.
Uptown and the city of Charlotte are exceptionally beautiful and pristine with thoughtful planning and placement of greenways, parks, light rail or carriage rides and ample public transit which allow visitors and residents alike to enjoy the luxury Uptown lifestyle to its fullest.
