Green in Louisville

By
Real Estate Agent

There has been a lot of green flashing around Louisville this last week as residents celebrate St Patrick's Day. But being "green" is something we try to do all year here in the city of roses. As a matter of fact, the Go Green Louisville! Program was launched March 17, 2008 and is still going strong!

This city wide environmental plan has been very successful and has received notice from around the country. Smarter Cities included Louisville on their 2009 "cities to watch" list. SustainLane ranked Louisville 29th for hitting their stride as a sustainable city. From having the best drinking water to the construction of the Louisville Loop, the city's efforts to live green have gotten attention.

Just in the last few weeks, Louisville's Metro Government was named a recipient of the 2010 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award! Tomorrow, March 18th, Mayor Abramson will accept the award in Washington. He has also been asked to deliver the keynote address for the Energy Star Partners.

Louisville is possibility city, if you can dream it; you can probably make it happen here! If you want to find ways to be green all year round, check out the Go Green Louisville homepage. You can find information on things like the city's recycling programs, local farmers markets and the new bike and walking paths available.

The only thing better than visiting Louisville is living here! When you are ready to relocate to the area, call Younger-Gaines Real Estate of Younger Group Real Estate!  ! They know Louisville and can help you find the right place to call home!
