The road to the closing table could seem treacherous to many. You've begun the journey and at first glance it was all uphill, after all, you were out shopping for the perfect home. Driving around, sipping on lattes (or snowballs, even), viewing properties and imagining yourself living in them. Finally, you find THE one and you're ready to make an offer! You survived the negotiations and all parties have agreed on price, terms and contingencies, hooray - everyone celebrates! You are now on the yellow brick road - the journey to the closing table......
Inspections and Appraisals and Paper Work.... oh my! The next 30-45 days may feel like an eternity, downright overwhelming at times! There will be deadlines, and more deadlines... inspections and inspection responses. This coupled with what may feel like a never ending flow of paperwork to your lender and your buyer's agent is enough to frighten even the bravest of all!
Finally, your lender has given the title company 'clear to close' and the date is set! After signing your signature 268 times and initialing 55 .... you receive the key to your property! And, very similar to child birth.... you forget all about the pain along the way and realize you would gladly do it all over again!
Hang in there and remember to take a deep breath and remind yourself... "There is no place like home" ...
