Wordless Wednesday - There Is Beauty in a Swamp

Beauty and the Beast Swamp

A beautiful flower in the middle of a swamp.

They say a pictures is worth a thousand words.  If you had to describe this picture... what would you say?

How could such a beautiful flower grow in a swamp?  What kind of flower is it?  Maybe "Mother Nature" is sending us a message... could she be saying something like "you can always find something good in any situation... just look for it".

Don't you just love how something so beautiful can be found where you least expect it to be?

There is a famous Ansel Adams photograph of a lone flower growing out of a crack in a city sidewalk that has always reminded me that beauty can be found anywhere.

Yes, Fernando, rising to the occasion when no one expects it, is a very good motto

It is a jewel isn't it Dorie.  Looks like just a tiny flower.

Yes, who would have thought that something so pretty was in a swamp, with all the yuck!

Definitely is life Barbara, definitely is.

Thanks Patrick and you have a great day as well!

You just have to look Diane for sure, sometimes harder than other times.

It is the truth Steve, we have to work hard at it, because its there.

You've piqued our interest Craig, going to see if we can find that picture.....

Al and Peggy, you can't beat mother nature.  There is so much all around us that some times we just take it for granted.

Great lily photo but the best is your profile shot.  I would hire you both if I were looking in the area.

Hi Al and Peggy - You can find all kinds of amazing species in the swamp.  Just be careful of those alligators when you roam the swamps in Florida and don't be too tasty for the mosquitos in the Ontario swamps.

As Marilyn said, it is one of the peace lilies (Spathiphyllum sp.) although I am not sure which one. There are about 40 varieties, and most books only show you pictures of the most popular ones, of which swamp specimens are not.
