I love going to street fairs. They're just FUN! Walking around with an ear of corn dripping with butter and cheese is ummmmm, YUMMY!
One of the last street fairs of the season is held right down the hill from my house -- in downtown Auburn -- starting on August 13th, and running through the weekend until August 15th.
But Auburn Good Ol' Days is so much more than just a street fair!
On Saturday the 15th is the annual Classic Car and Truck Show for cars built before 1960. Then on Sunday, the slightly newer cars (built 1979 and before) come out. My guys are salivating -- they love this. Think neat old cars all shined up with exceptional paint jobs and big engines. Cool!
Want to see the best local talent? Visit the juried Fine Art Show is held at City Hall both Saturday and Sunday. Or maybe, like me, you really appreciate your four-legged friends--the "Critters in Costume" contest and fashion show event is held Saturday at 2:00 at City Hall.
Possibly the most hysterical moment, however, is the appearance of the Honey Bucket Brigade -- custom designed ... ummm, "crappers" (they said it, not me!) ... bring up the end of the Grand Parade, Saturday at high Noon.
Oh yes, there's more--Class Reunions on Friday night, the 5k Fun Run, kids and their RC Tug Boats, The Rompin' Stompin' Street Dance on Saturday evening featuring the Fabulous Murphtones -- and even more of course.
