Home Staging is like Store Window designing it's a marketing tool

In today's world your home is up for review 24/7 via social networking and internet.  Let compare the two...

Window display is the fine art of displaying store merchandise in the store window. It is the first point of contact between the store and the consumer...as is a home...the first contact is the prospective buyer (consumer) and the drive by the sellers home.

Home staging" is not a new term, but for many homeowners and real estate agents the concept of "professional home staging" is shedding new light on how to promote a home in the real estate market

Retailers are recognizing the importance of window display as the first point of contact between the store and the customer and a chance to create the most critical first impression on the customer

Professional home stagers are practiced in the art of preparing a home for resale

Window display is more than just a display of wares. It is a unique form of advertising. As stated earlier, it is the first contact point between the store and the customer

As the real estate industry often stresses, the first impression is the key factor in selling your home.

In store window marketing

Don't overdo it. Less can be more, or at least more easily discernable to the eye. A cluttered window loses appeal and featured items can get lost.

Staging is what you do after you've cleaned, de-cluttered, painted, made minor repairs; it's all about dressing the house for sale

Make merchandise the focal point

In home staging the house is the merchandise....disassociate, de-personalize, de-clutter, rearrange.
