Historical Khoury House Move
I recently blogged about a Historical House being moved to a new location in Lake Charles. Patricia Kennedy commented and was so intrigued she thought the house would be dropped! Patricia also featured this blog as one of her favorites last week. Thanks Patricia!
This historical house which belongs to the Khoury family of Lake Charles, has been in the Lake Charles news spotlight. The local news station KPLC featured the house once again this evening. It is now resting in its new location on Pujo Street right in the heart of the Charpentier District.
The house is secure and renovations are scheduled to be completed in nine months - one year. Expect a follow up blog in the future when the home is completely restored!
The Charpentier District is located in downtown Lake Charles with most homes located along Pujo and Kirby Streets.
Homeowners are falling in love all over again with the beauty and charm of these historical homes. The latest market report shows homes currently listed in the Charpentier District ranging in price from 187,000 to $375,000. This is one of the typical homes you will find located in this historical area of Lake Charles which I sold last month for $185,000
