Facebook is changing the FACE...Are you ready?

So, you may have heard - read - listened from your tech savvy colleagues: Facebook is changing something from August 23rd.

I may describe this topic much in detail but I am not a tech writer so, let me point you to these changes and then a link to the article. Firstly, here is the change:

Facebook announced last October it would be reducing the maximum size of custom tabs from 760 pixels to 520 pixels wide.(This will be effective in week of August 23rd - as per this article.)

And here is the link for this article from AllFaceBook.

The boxes on left of a facebook page will go - so if you have any application that uses Boxes, change it to a tab (of reduced size) - I have one box for my daily forecasts, one for market snapshot, one from Roost..so I have to work hard to convert them to tab. Any VAs around? (just kidding...)

And, of course, you may have heard, read, listened etc..about Facebook Places - launched few days ago. If not, start here and see it for yourself what it is.

So, question, once again - Facebook is going to be different from Monday. Are you ready?

Facebook is always redefining itself.  I just wish it would be more proactive in sending out notices themselves instead of having to read about what is and what has changed on third party websites!

I own an independent real estate company in Boise, Idaho and use the internet and social media extensively and am shocked by how poorly some of the social media giants fail at marketing their social media!

The add ons can be like handfuls of tinsel, thrown on the tree and slowing down the operation. I think realtor.com is one add on heavy, slow machine and if someone could stream line and come up with "naked", "stripped" keep it like the old MacDonalds...hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries and a shake...well, zing. It would cruise.

Facebook like most websites continually evolve to make it a better experience for all. Sometimes I wonder why change what is obviously working though.
