Stagecoach LakeYes!  Although the name, CITY OF STAGECOACH TEXAS brings to mind covered wagons, Indian attacks, and wild animals a city of than name does exist.  It is north and west of downtown Tomball Texas.  Here amid ancient trees are homes on acreages varying in size and style.

The city also boasts two area lakes, a large park with covered pavilion, and a municipal building.  It comes with its own City Council, Mayor and entire city government.  Here is an opportunity to participate in your local politics, in case you are so inclined.

Once people move into the city of Stagecoach, they stay.  We know several people who have lived there in excess of thirty years.  In this migratory society that says a lot.  In general, Stagecoach residents take care of what they have.  They mostly keep to themselves, but do look out for each other.  Look at it as a natural form of neighborhood watch.   Homes in Stagecoach range from modest to mansions.  The real bonus is that people get to enjoy natural beauty and visits from area wildlife on a daily basis.

The lakes are great for recreational fishing and small boats, like canoes and rowboats.  Swimming was once popular too, but lost its allure when an alligator was sighted by a lake dwelling resident.  For many years the people talked about her strange testimony.  She was thought of as exocentric. Then she was vindicated when the alligator came up on another residents’ yard.  We never heard what happened to the alligator, but swimming is no longer a  popular sport in the lake.Deer in trees

If you are looking for country living at its finest, Stagecoach may be a great candidate for home.

If you plan to visit the city of Stagecoach, remember that the entire city government comes with a police department.  They are very serious about enforcing the speed within their city.  Just a little something we thought you should know.

In our brief visit today we got to enjoy visiting with some of the neighbors.  It seemed only right to share with you.

Hey thanks Emily!  I love your city!  I used to live in Durango CO and we would come over on Labor Day weekend to relax and get away from the motorcycle rally that shows up in Durango every year!

Who knew there was an actual town called Stagecoach? Now I do! I did not know alligators were in Texas at all.....I don't think I would be swimming if I heard of an alligator in the lake! Even if it was from the crazy cat lady!
