Visiting Moose in Riverside Harbor, Post Falls, Idaho This friendly young bull moose took a swim across the Spokane River to pay a visit to several of the residents in the beautiful Riverside Harbor neighborhood in Post Falls. My sister, Kerri Thoreson, a talented photographer who always has a camera or two by her side, snapped this great photo from the safety of her car.

I love how it appears Mr. Moose is arriving for dinner, and is patiently waiting for his hosts to answer the bell and welcome him inside!

I followed a deer down a residential street this morning. I figured he was looking for a safe way out/in to a forested island among the subdivisions. But now I know he may have just been just checking out the doors.

Well Sally, it could be either! I had my first taste of roast moose this week, and it was actually very good! Moose tags are hard to get, so it's not everyday that just anyone can decide to make a moose for dinner. Hunters get in a lottery each year, and have been known to wait 20 years for their number to come up.
