I always say "sell your space not your stuff!" Staging helps define focul points of the room and allows perspective buyers to imagine a functional floorplan. It's just the right balance of furniture to enhance the room, not clutter it!

Really like the phrase," put homebuyers into your listing".  Very well put - buyers cannot connect with seller's taste all the time.  Professional home stagers are trained to remove the personal, the unique which they know from experience won't appeal to the broad range of buyers.

Sellers, if U love your home so much you won't accept professional recommendations for change you may have it around a lot longer to 'love' than you planned on.
