Yesterday I got a VERY irate call from one of my sellers. She had arrived home from work and found the back door leading out to her deck WIDE open. There had been a showing in the afternoon and the agent had obviously not taken good care about securing the property. She was (rightfully so) very upset about the conduct of the showing agent.
I did my best to assure her that I would have words with the agent and I would reinforce the security of her home by changing the showing instructions to include such details as "make sure all the doors are closed and locked before leaving" to future showing agents.
She sent me an e-mail today about the incident.
"There are a few things missing that I noticed after a thorough inspection of my home after that Realtor was so kind to leave my back door wide open for anyone to come in and take whatever they wanted. The items are listed below is what I am missing:
-
(1) Candy Apple Red Porche from the garage
-
All of our new granite counter tops
-
The stainless steel stove and dishwasher. (Funny thing they left the stainless steel fridge)
-
The 60" flat screen plasma tv in the living room
I'll will continue to inventory the house and let you know if anything else comes up missing."
She has a GREAT sense of humor!
